Installing Guest Additions

This should just be a case of running the autorun file from the Guest Additions ISO. Exceptions are documented below...
Download the VBoxGuestAdditions ISO file from the location matching your VirtualBox version if you can't find it in /usr/share/virtualbox

VBoxManage --version

Oracle Linux 9

As 'root'...

sudo su root

dnf install epel-release -y

dnf install dkms

dnf install kernel-uek-devel

dnf install perl

rpm -q kernel-uek-devel

uname -r

If the versions don't match exactly then run...

sudo dnf update kernel-uek-* kernel-uek

reboot

Oracle Enterprise Linux 8

As 'root'...

dnf install https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/epel-release-latest-8.noarch.rpm

rpm -q epel-release

dnf install gcc make perl kernel-devel kernel-headers bzip2 dkms

rpm -q kernel-devel

uname -r

If the versions don't match exactly then run...

e.g. kernel-devel-4.18.0-193.19.1.el8_2.x86_64 and 4.18.0-80.el8.x86_64 do NOT match

dnf update kernel-*

reboot

Oracle Enterprise Linux 7 (UEK)

As 'root'...

yum install https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/epel-release-latest-7.noarch.rpm

yum install gcc make perl kernel-devel kernel-uek-devel kernel-headers bzip2 dkms

rpm -q kernel-uek-devel

uname -r

If the versions don't match exactly then run...

e.g. kernel-devel-4.18.0-193.19.1.el8_2.x86_64 and 4.18.0-80.el8.x86_64 do NOT match

yum update kernel-*

reboot
