NOTE: If you want to add Block Storage to an Oracle database server which falls under the DB Systems section of the OCI Console then you should use the "Scale Storage Up" button rather than adding block storage as described here. "Scale Storage Up" provisions block storage (in 512GB increments) and automatically adds the space to ASM (DATA diskgroup). Additional space will also automatically be added to the RECO diskgroup.

Create a new Block Volume

Attach the new Volume

Compute - Instances - Resources - Attached Block Volumes

Connect to the new Volume
