Topology

Cold Standby for the Zabbix Server means a copy of the server that is not running. This could be achieved using disk replication, virtual machine cloning, configuration management or manually building multiple servers but running only one at a time (ideally with the same hostname to avoid need to reconfigure Zabbix proxies).
Proxies reconnect automatically (they retry indefinitely)
Dual proxies protect you from:

proxy failure
maintenance events
local network issues
disk failures

Agents need both local proxies defined by the ServerActive config variable

Database Backend

MySQL/Percona, MariaDB, PostgreSQL (including TimescaleDB) and Oracle (up to Zabbix 7.0)

Zabbix Proxy

Each Zabbix Proxy has a database. Supported databases are SQLite, MySQL and PostgreSQL

systemctl start zabbix-proxy

systemctl stop zabbix-proxy

systemctl restart zabbix-proxy

systemctl status zabbix-proxy
